ABOUT
Discovery Play/Foundation is a play-based phonics curriculum that enables a child to not just acquire knowledge of letters and letter sounds, but focuses on improving skills involved in literacy:
Fine Motor Skills
Gross Motor Skills
Spatial Orientation
Logical Thinking Skills
Our extra sensorial curriculum allows the little ones to touch, feel and enjoy learning!
In Discovery Play/Foundation, children develop a spoken vocabulary of 1,000 words and identification of over 80 objects!
LESSONS
Your child is introduced to one letter a week. By the end of each class they will be able to sound the letter confidently and associate it to an expanded vocabulary of words. After positive reinforcement of every letter sound, your child will develop a strong interest in learning to read.

In Beginner, little ones apply their knowledge of letters and letter sounds in learning how to blend. At this point, learning still focuses on developing fine and gross motor skills, but goes a step further in developing:
Logical thinking skills
Conversational skills
Building a firm foundation in phonics concepts
Creativity
(the starting point for creative writing later on!)
LESSONS
Your child has a strong foundation in all their letter sounds. Every week they will learn to blend, read, spell and write new words. Watch as they take the initiative to read full sentences confidently and with gusto!
5-7 YEARS OLD

By the time little ones hit Intermediate, they are confident young learners - eager to spell words out by sounding them! They are able to identify non-organic letter and sound combinations, which enables them to spell larger words! Since they can read quickly, fluidly and fluently now, they are able to move on to doing simple comprehension as well as pre-cursors to creative writing!
LESSONS
Words containing more than 3 letters will be taught to your child every lesson, and they will be taught to read longer sentences as well as simple comprehension text. Your child will surprise you with their expanded vocabulary and their ability to pronounce - and understand - complex words. They start to be able to read independently and explore new stories and books on their own. You'll be surprised to find them reading to you instead of asking you to read to them!
PRIMARY SCHOOL CLASSES

English at the primary level revolves largely around grammar. Children at our classes learn about nouns, verbs - in a manner that's easy to grasp, understand and intuitive to learn!

For students who've completed our preschool enrichment programme, they may enrol for our Primary School Classes without going through the assessment.
